Time Flies When You Travel The World

What’s up world!? Yesterday I celebrated a rather big anniversary that I wanted to recognize.

On September 13th 2010, I packed my life into 3 bags and flew to LA to join my very first cruise ship! That’s right ladies and gentlemen, I have officially been working in the cruise entertainment industry for a decade. Clearly I started at 15 ;-)

During those 10 years I have done a total of seven contracts (5 full contracts and 2 swing contracts), visited almost 50 countries, performed in more productions than I can count and wrote/produced my own solo show.

To say that cruises changed my life would be an understatement. I was fresh out of school when I signed my first contract with Carnival Cruise Lines. I always thought I would just do a few contracts to pay off my college loans but as you can see…that was not the case :-) I quickly fell in love with so many aspects of ship life that I continue to miss today #fucovid .

I became addicted to discovering new places, meeting people from all over the world, building my vocal stamina, exploring new genres but most of all doing that I was put on this planet to do...sing.

Of course every job has its negatives and some contracts were better than others but I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything! It was from the relationships I made on that first ship which brought me to Las Vegas. Those three years gave me my Actors Equity card, my agent and a renewed love of musical theatre.

But even after years back on land, I couldn’t seem to kick the habit. Since moving to NYC, I have tried to strike a balance of my passion for both musical theatre and revue shows. I truly believe that it is possible to love and pursue both once it is safe to sit in a theatre again ❤️

I hope to see you all there!!!
