“The Grind…”

“Pounding the Pavement…”

No matter what you call it…auditions are a huge part of life as a performer!  While living in Vegas, there weren’t a whole lot of them so, I would drive down to LA from time to time just to keep fresh.  One thing that I have learned over the years is that auditioning is a totally different skill set and if you don’t practice, you loose it!

Well, that isn’t an issue anymore :-P My full time job in NYC is auditioning!  There are some days when it feels overwhelming and times when I loose myself in the constant struggle for approval.   That is when I remember these words…

“This is who I am today.  This is my hair color, my weight, my height, my voice range, my age range, and these are my acting abilities today.  If you can use me, that’s great: if not, thank you for letting me audition for you today, for the opportunity to audition one more time.  I know the reason you may not be interested in me has nothing to do with anything I did incorrectly, because I was well prepared” – The Complete Professional Audition
